Trym Valley Academy

Enable Trust has been successfully been appointed by Bristol City Council to open and operate a new free school in Bristol, which will be called Trym Valley Academy.

The school will offer a flexible provision to cater for a range of specialist education needs within the city. This brand new, purpose-built school will be located in Southmead, North Bristol, and is scheduled to open in September 2028. It will cater for pupils aged 4-19 and, when at full capacity will accommodate 164 pupils.

The special free school will meet the needs of  Children and Young People (CYP) with complex needs who may have a diagnosis of ASC (Autistic Spectrum Condition) and/or  SLCN (Speech, Language and Communication Needs) and associated emotional and mental health difficulties. The CYP may have been not attending school due to anxiety or other related metal health difficulties. The school will allow CYP to access a mainstream type of curriculum and GCSE and other qualifications, where appropriate to their needs.

In addition, the school will include an outreach and training function focused on Trauma-Informed Practice across Bristol, particularly aimed at supporting children and young people being educated in their home settings.
